Many homeowners get so excited as they anticipate a new kitchen. Sometimes this excitement translates to making rushed decisions in executing their kitchen remodel.

It can be very tempting to grab the first good buy that they come across, whether this be the tile flooring, a hungry contractor, or a refrigerator that they thought would work great in the new kitchen.

Now you are asking, "How does this relate to getting upside

down in a kitchen remodel?"

Good question. Here's your answer: rash, or rush decisions in kitchen remodels are just one way the project can be lead into a domino effect, where the planning process has a hickup, and has to be revisited because a new element has been introduced. This increases the chances of mistakes on the job greatly, thereby increasing costs, and surprises at the end.

I can't emphasize enough the value of a well thought out plan in advance.

"I really do like the layout of my kitchen.
I appreciate your expertise..."

Question: When referring to a refrigerator, what does bottom-mount mean?

Answer: D: Freezer is on the bottom.

Q: This is the second time I have had a dishwasher flood my kitchen with wood floors, what can I do to prevent this in the future?

A: Here are a couple ideas you won’t hear anywhere else. If you can get access to your sink, dishwasher area, and fridge area from below, consider installing drains in those spaces. Let’s face it, it is not a matter of if they will leak, it is a matter of when.

Next, you might consider a Bosch dishwasher, which has their patented AquaStop feature. If the unit leaks from underneath connections, it will turn the dishwasher off until it is fixed, thereby preventing a leak.
