Top 10 Reasons To Remodel Your Kitchen................1

Simple Maintenance On One Of The Largest Investments In Your Life .........2

At Portrait Kitchens we have probably three to four new clients expressing the interest to remodel their kitchens. Let’s explore why:

1. The layout was not designed well. It doesn’t flow.

2. Many of the products are broken or falling apart.

3. Time for a facelift. Everything is outdated.

4. Too small, time to enlarge the kitchen space.

5. Not enough storage space for the needs of the family.

6. Need to improve the value of the home.

7. The neighbors just remodeled theirs, so it is time for a kitchen remodel.

8. Need universal access for a wheelchair.

9. Doesn’t fit the style of the home.

10. Historical home deserves a truly historical type kitchen.

Some look for any reason at all to remodel their kitchen. Almost all are a worthy cause.

“When I brought something up you would show me something, you would show me a product line and say ‘Is this what you were thinking about, or maybe it’s this you were thinking about’, and showed me I had several different choices. I’m all about choices anyway, and simple design.”

Answer: B: Brazilian Cherry

Q: Can we make our countertops higher than 36”? L.B. Nevada

A: Sure. 36” high countertops have simply become an industry standard in kitchens. If 38”, 40” or more is comfortable to you.

If vanity cabinets 5-10 years ago began increasing in height to match kitchen cabinets, then certainly kitchen cabinets/countertops can increase also.

I would recommend, however to have at least one countertop space in the kitchen that is 36” high. Having two different height counters from 30”-36” & from 36”-42” is always a good idea to suit different height users.
