360 Degree View On Kitchen Technology

New & Unique Materials To Consider For Your Kitchen .........................................2

It is obvious that today’s kitchen is becoming the center of not only our homes but our lives. Many people eat, relax, entertain, clean, manage, and play in their kitchens.

Keep a few things in mind while considering the planning of your kitchen and choices on new technology:

1. Plan retrofitting options for the future. Just think about the changes to the kitchen world in the last twenty years, it is likely new

technology will require some upgrades and replacements with new products.

2. Plan the home around the kitchen. This includes offices, game rooms, laundry, sitting rooms, and of course the traditional dining room (what a concept!).

3. Finally, there are too many options to consider everything. Pick your top three and go with them. Whether it be satellite, wireless, internet, gps, alarm, security...

“We spent a lot of time throwing ideas at them, instead of them throwing ideas at us, yet when it came down to someone who could walk through the project and had a real sense of the project, we found that you really couldn’t be beat.”

A: Cornice B: Crown C: Valance D: Stile

Answer: D: Stile by Curtis Trujillo.

That’s right. All the others relate to molding or wood applications usually at the top of cabinetry or walls. A stile is the vertical wood pieces on doors or cabinets.

Q: I am concerned about electronic controls on appliances, should I be? J.R. St George

A: Many have expressed their concern with the electronic age. When I first started selling appliances, this was one of the most common concerns, because we were just in the transition from analog to digital controls.

Fortunately, now most manufacturers make most appliances with some electronics in the units. The cost of replacing electronic equipment is decreasing, as well as the ability to upload updates and improvments to the computer software in the appliances. Pay attention to the warranty specifically on the electronics to see how much the manufacturere believes in them.
