Television

There is a new segment to be introduced on KCSG television with a chef demonstrating different cooking tips in one of the fully functional kitchens at the showroom of Portrait Kitchens.

In 2004 Shad is participated in a pilot program through KCSG, a Southern Utah privately owned television station. They currently air a unique real estate listing program, which tours a home and interviews agents, called "Open House". Click here to check schedule of show times.

Magazine

Read one of Shad's most recent articles in the Winter 2007 issue of "Alaska's Best Kitchens" magazine. The article is titled "Designing Your Kitchen As The Heart of Your Home".

See one of Shad's projects in the September-October 2003 issue of the St. George Magazine. It is a high quality regional magazine with a focus on Southern Utah issues, lifestyle, services, products, etc. You will also find some educational information on kitchen design in the "Kitchen concepts: Designs on the heart" article.

Radio

Listen to 1450 KZNU on Thursday afternoons from 4:00-5:00pm (immediately following Dr. Laura) for the ALL NEW "Radio Remodeling Show". This program is be hosted by Shad Johnsen, CKD of Portrait Kitchens and Kevin Hansen of White Glove Home Improvement. Topics discussed are related to kitchens, baths, additions, and more. It is a live call in talk program to get remodel solutions, answer trivia questions, get updates from the City of St George Building Inspection Department, and be educated by industry professionals in our "Pro In The Know" segment. Showroom Displays

Portrait Kitchens has a full service showroom complete with 5 kitchen displays, and most of the kitchens are live and functining for demonstration purposes. You will find the all new TurboChef speedcook oven, Thermador Freedom refrigeration, buther block countertops, and much more.

Seminars

Shad has been presenting kitchen planning seminars for nearly 10 years now. His most popular and successful workshop is called "Planning Your Kitchen Like a Pro", which is held three times annually, click here to find out more.

Shad began presenting seminars at the home shows in Anchorage, Alaska in 1998, and has presented about four to five per year since then.

Check here regularly to get the latest information on upcoming seminars. These seminars are an open forum for discussion for anything relating to the kitchen and bath industry.

Newspaper

In 2002, Shad assisted an editor from the Anchorage Daily News with a kitchen remodel in his geodesick dome house. He provided a commentary and some before and after photographs. Shad has a hard copy that may be read or viewed upon request.

There is an ad in the Qwestdex Yellow Pages under Kitchen Planning & Remodeling. Also look for information in the Yellow Book , The Phone Book and the Dixie Book from 2003-2008.
